A boutique hairdressing salon in the heart of Carlton

Since opening our doors in May 1996, our inviting boutique salon has been at full force in establishing a reputation in haircutting, styling and colouring. The name, Chainsaw Massacre originated from Jay’s distaste for “fluffy” salon names that were so prevalent at the time. The name stuck and today remains one of Carlton’s icons.

Our culture within the walls of our Elgin Street Salon is the celebration of individuality, which pervades through our unique style. With over 25 years experience in the industry, Jay constantly strives to create, achieve and maintain his particular vision, which emanates through to the CM crew.

At the basin, the CM crew use only organic, natural products. You can even take a bit of our style home by the bottle, with our line of hair products to keep your hair looking vibrant, sexy and healthy far after that last cut or colour.
